Emily is a researcher with interests in maps, urban infrastructure, and data. Before graduate school, Emily worked in architecture, real estate, and urban development in San Antonio, Texas. Her academic background in environmental science, GIS, and photojournalism prepared her to study complex systems and their impacts on people. She is interested in using mapmaking and digital multimedia as a starting point for communities to plan for future growth and infrastructure projects.
